help.... finding good resources

I'm trying to learn my most favored style of Trance called Uplifting Trance (also known as Epic/ Anthem Trance) and I need everything there is to know around that style to a rookie producing DJ like myself. If you have some good tutorials, music examples, people, etc of this genre please help out, this is been on my list for quite some time to learn this genre.
"Epic" trance is a silly misnomer for what is probably one of my few favorite subsets. If you want to write proper epic trance, make sure to *always* have a strong pad or ambient synth carrying your chord progression right along with the bassline. Orchestral patches and string synths are great for this; I have a few free DSK VST/VSTi instrument plugins I've been real happy using, that I'd be happy to share with you if it helps.
Don't be afraid to really experiment with longer chord progressions. Most chord progressions will run for 4 bars; in proper epic trance, the chord progression might be 16 to 32 bars or longer. So your bassline and your "fillers" (pads, ambient background synths, et-cetera) will suddenly feel like you're composing a very slow, drawn-out melody with them.
Another important part of this particular subset is that you'll generally find a wide variety of timbres. If you have the ability to do so, use automation to change the sounds of your synthesizers dynamically while transitioning between different movements within the composition. THis will let you have longer sections, while the constant movement and change prevents anything from getting boring ro sounding too repetitious.
I hope this helps!
If you wanna chat more, drop me a PM and we'll swap IM addresses or something. ^v^
but this might help me out, but with me... even with this music I have on here kinda feels out of place. I really don't want to day that but... well.... I'm still a beginner on this ^^; I would like to actually pursue some of the genres that I listen too and that's one of them, I just would like to have a helping hand in these things ya know.
*shrugs with a shy smile* oh ok....^^;
So yeah! Dance music is something I love and there is *no* reason for me not to share what I've learned over the last nine years.
In your case, the best thing to do is to take in *everything* you can. If you like it, use it and experiment with it.
If you *don't* like it, then great. YOu know how to avoid making it. :D
*nods with a smile* well that's good because I would like to have some people that are relaxed and care free to maybe help me out around this stuff ^^; and if you want to help then I won't mind what so ever^^
But yes. I'd be thrilled to help you, and if I'm in a position where I need your help, I'd be thrilled to have it as well. ^v^
*nods with a smile* well all I can probably provide is artwork but once I learn more.. .amybe do some collabs together? I've always wanted to do that future on ^^; but either way I'm sending you a note on here with contact info if you're still up for some chatting and such.
I'll be back in about 7 hours, buddy! We'll have a chat and swap samples. :D
