I got my first distortion pedal a few days ago, and IT. IS. AWESOME. It's a Boss DS-1 Rock Distortion pedal, and MAN DOES IT KICK ASS. I used to always just figure out the rhythms, notes and whatnot when playing clean, but now, I can get SO MANY different sounds and tones, everything sounds badass! I can go from Hendrix to Hetfield in seconds with a few turns. It was the best $40 I ever spent, and I'd highly recommend it for a starting pedal, just as the person did that sold it to me. 'Nuff said, I'm tired.
