It will. It'll cause gas milage to suck dick, it'll make the car a slug, it'll make it run rich, or lean, it'll steal all the cars power and throw it right in the shitter.

JUST TO PLAY SAFE, saturn brains use "fuzzy logic", they are an early learning PCM, when you change it, in the fuse box under the hood, pull the PCM B Fuse for 2 minutes, make the brain re-learn the engine. It's used to the shitty ECTS signals so it compensaits for it.

To give you an idea of what kinds of issues it can cause; My new 1998 SW2 has 200K miles on it, with a bad ECTS for who knows how many years. I got the car FREE because it was hard to start, the transmission was slow to shift and acted weird, the economy was in the toilet and they said it was very sluggish. They also said it always "over heated"

It was. The 47 mile drive home was a joke, it kept going bat shit insane. On the OBD2 Saturns, the ECTS talks to the gauge instead of a seperate sensor like the OBD1's do, the temp gauge spent the whole trip hole playing the mambo. It would PEG it self like the car was over heated, then a second later, it would snap back to the other side like it was 49 below zero.

Got home and changed it, and in that INSTANT, the car runs and drives as good as new. That first start with the new one, BAM, brand new fucking car.

When it dies totally, the car will go turbo rich. Saturn brains default to -49, and cold, means it runs REAAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY rich.
