The latest (and proper) installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise has been shown to take place during the American Revolution, as shown in the updated box art today. Although it was leaked and speculated before the official word got out today, it's going to be interesting what new ideas and gameplay mechanics they put in AC3.

Oh, why's that? While it's not really the setting I would go for, it's not a time period / event that's been covered too much by the video game medium.
