And just what do you think you're doing?

Yes. You.
I've this notion that actions are one thing, and what you're really up to is another. Actions are the path to the thing you're doing. Actions are the outward manifestation of what you're doing.
For example:
Right now I'm thumbnailing the next page of SLOP. That's the action. What I'm doing is weaving a bit of magic in the form of art and fiction that will fuck with people's heads. People think they know Sam. But...do they?
So what are you doing?

But what I'm doing? I'm contemplating career choices, and wondering if I'm happy with my station in life.
Currently, I'mPart way there, nice and relaxed life.
I want to be a man of leisure and taste.
Uncle.
Doing: I am painstakingly cutting the fat of my previous chapter so that I may start the next one unencumbered.
What I am accomplishing is going through the motions.
What really matters is intent. We don't judge, we accept or don't accept.
I don't know if the above counts as an answer or not, but this post has me thinking.
What am I really doing? Realizing that this way of looking at people has brought me a very special small circle of individuals whom I trust deeply and love unconditionally, and that I am grateful to have them.
Hmmm, strangely reminiscent of a question I hear all too often:
"WHAT THE BLOODY **** DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!?"
Ah, mostly recovering from spending all day yesterday fixing fence after the recent storms. Pretty much my entire body is cut, bent, sore, immobile, bloody ("If you're not bleeding, you're not fixing fence"), I'm pretty sure there's about 3 square inches above my left ear that doesn't hurt. One knee strained; a quadripedalist several times my size fell on it and bent it sideways. I'll feel like shit for days, and there's more to do. Yeah, I have heavy equipment available, but quite naturally the most damage is in wooded gullies where even the human body barely goes.
But what am I REALLY doing? I'm a livestock producer, breeding and working with critters of various species on a working farm. Took years of planning and execution to get here. Wouldn't trade it for anything else.
