How do they steal your stuff, just mine all the blocks out of your house?

out of my even SECRET hidden basement: All the stuffs gone from my chests.

For instance:
my only one diamond pickaxe which I've earned by finding it all myself
5 golden rod
at least 64 iron rod
all my coal and charcoals
at least 128 redstone and 28 redstone torch,
40 obsidian block
128 wooden block
railways, all my breads stored for emergency (at least 512 of them)
and I can list it to eternity...

That sucks! I thought you could only empty chests that belong to you, but I haven't played much Minecraft in multiplayer. Talk to your admin, and maybe they'll replace some of your items?

They're on the case and looking for the suspect to be banned once his item has been taken away. All of them.

Sounds like someone using an Xray hack. How he bypassed protections on your chests? Admin? Or does the server not use lockette?

it's a private server, only invited players may have access on it.

Ever since this incident happened, I don't think I can get you in because they're being more paranoid now and having a Whitelist turned on now.

Fair enough ^^ The server I'm on is family-run operation which is nice, but their daughter keeps bringing on irritating teenagers who clog up the server :P So if you know of any more mature communities let me know.

on the server I joined I just finished the Semi-Automatic Wheat Harvesting Machine Mark II, which can harvest 501 wheat at the pull of a single lever.
and only takes two hours to 'reload' and be ready for the next harvest.

I don't think you know it, it's being hosted from a private computer.

most servers keep logs of who took what. can the server owner replace what was stolen and kick the griefers?

Oy. I griefed someone on one of my old servers, but being its "god", I backed up the server save pre-grief so it was just a simple prank. Needless to say, even though it was easily repaired, there was extreme terrible butthurt by the griefed player. He demanded so much compensation, it wasn't even funny. "I want a Large Chest filled with complete stacks of Diamond Blocks (Yes... 64 Diamond BLOCKS per square.), the entire village to be restored (He wasn't happy that I retconned with a save reversion. He wanted me to rebuild the entire place with my own blood, sweat, and tears.), and other stupid demands.

It was even bad enough the guy essentially made threats to "have ways of ruining the server (and my computer) for everyone else."

Still, at least the video captured of the grief prank is immortalized. :-B

It wasn't only me who got damaged pretty bad: My classmates and others were too, their house got destroyed seriously and lava had them ruined. Imagine that all of them built it with their bare spare time and patience. How would you feel if I'd just come and smash something in your real life which you'd take so precious that no money can repay the effort you used to put into it?

I'm creative and I take it serious and pretty much of a direct and intentional insult if someone takes my property suddenly. That griefer were just meant to destroy and annoy people, it was for sure.

Oh, I hear ya. Like I said, I completely retconned the trap prank but he still wasn't even happy with it. It was bad enough that the guy claimed an entire NPC village for himself and wouldn't let anyone into it, and he claimed that HE BUILT IT ALL (He put a bed into one of the houses, along with a crafting table and furnaces.

HE BUILT A GAME-MADE RANDOM STRUCTURE THAT THE SEED MADE.

You definitely have all right to be pissed on your server though. That's why I like to have back-ups, just in case there IS a known griefer.

Because he is a master of Law and Ethics, according to him. Why? He started reading Philosophy Books since he was 12, and took Ethics classes in college for about three years. He also felt he could sue me IRL because I destroyed his intellectual properties.

Did you do anything to catch the ire of someone, or do you think it was for the lulz? Those would be the common reasons to get griefed (from what I've seen).

Well when it comes to greivers I seen many but none to bad..

Example was when I built a small fort and someone took out all the torches from it and posted a threat to leave.. Not cool at all.. this was in vanillia

Another one was when the server used the multiworld and factions. One guy decided to pull everyone from my faction and black mail other members into joining his new faction by stealing all their stuff. and locking them out of their own homes, etc..

When things like this happen if you aren't an admin you should tell the admin. I myself am an admin of my own world and I don't ban imediantly even when the person known to be in trouble is in fact guilty. I would send the person to a created jail and have the person watch as I destroy everything the person created before banning him or her. Its to add insult to injury.

play on a good server like Buxville.net, griefing there is not only illegal but staff reimburses you for lost stuff if someone breaks in...

I'd also give you all that stuff you lost if you start there to give you a better start if you'd like =) Just send me a PM if you're interested. Always 80-120 players online, great admin team, massive cities, 16 levels of ether, nether, wilderness, mob arenas, cities that prohibit building, cities that don't, flying cities, underground cities, all you can ask for. I can highly suggest giving it a try, you wont regret it =)
