[Furry] What's up with Stream commissions...
What's up with Stream commissions taking precedence over regular ones? :/
Not gonna name names, but I've got one person who I commissioned a good while ago and he's been taking on new commissions and completing them in Ustream or whatever. I guess it's a good way to earn a quick buck, but seriously, what gives?
Seems to be part of a larger problem with artists who do commissions hugely out of order. It's a problem I've had in the past and generally been pretty lenient about. But what the fuck... you take full payment from me, then run off and do business with other people instead?
I don't want to ask for a refund because A) I want the art and B) I know he can be pressed for money at times, but... what am I supposed to do in a situation like this?

FA+

or just look if they even have a linear working programm or not. Not much to do about it ~_~
Artists can be like wild animals, they do whatever they feel like at times
It was like the artist - after taking my money - lost any enthusiasm for drawing the commission and simply had fun with others on ustream/livestream...
Out of curiosity, who was the artist? (Note me please... so we don't promote hate here or somehing)
They're a mix of horse/wolf/fox/dragon, used to help out with heavy pulling, kind of like work horses.
Nag the people till they do the work :P I know you don't want to cause trouble (I'm the same) but sometimes, you should be trying to get the "bang for your buck" and all that :P
Maybe the idea of a commissioner inspired you. And when you then draw somebody else's commission you think of the other commission all the time, thus your commission wouldn't be so good.
You are right. A professional artist should be able to churn out pictures when asked regardless how he is feeling.
But if you agreed on a deadline and he manages to finish in time, he still might do other pictures first, depening on what takes more time, uses special techniques and such.
I waited patiently for almost a year before asking for a refund since absolutely zero progress had been made, and I saw the gigantic queue that he actually had of back work that he had neglected in favor of stream derp.
The cause? I'd say it was more than likely his pricing structure, since it favored small works over more complex.
Moral of the story: Don't pay for your slot until you see the artist is about to start yours (stream) or has given you some really rough position sketches, otherwise you open yourself up to their whims on your dime.
250ms, thats all it takes.

Stream commissions and regular commissions are different things to complete in proper order? I just work on commissions whenever I stream... I don't make a difference like "stream commissions" and "regular commissions." I just find it easier to work when I've other's watching, it gives me a strange sense of motivation.
I have been waiting about 6 months now for my art that I purchased. It never hurts to email the artist too! I have done that after 4 months of waiting and I got a reply back but now it's 6 months and still nothing . I am tolerant with it though, have waited many months for such before, and it was worth the wait (sometimes) x) .
Best bet would be drop weekly reminders to said artist "Oh hey, I was wondering when you'll do my {insert picture here} on {insert streaming program}?" or something along that line. Let them know that you've been very patient. If worse does come to worse, and it's been a while still, it's time to try asking for a refund or compensation for the wait.
If all else fails; RELEASE THE HOUNDS.
...that's around the time you met me o.o
My pet peeve is still artists that take commissions, then just dick off and do a bunch of personal art or gift art, oh but when you prod them "oh I'm SO BUSY".
I do try to be patient and understanding, but there is kind of a limit where they're just taking advantage :P
Incidentally, are this artist's initials PP?
You will have to be a hardass and say either that you get a picture or a refund or they'll go up on the artist_beware LJ community. Especially if it has been five years.
Try to get a refund if you can, if not then put a post on artists beware then try to forget about it.
