messed up. you remember the meme everyone was doing where you alter a wildlife picture of your species to look like your fursona? when i did it mine got removed, so i re-uploaded added even more changes and credited the photographer and source of the picture. they removed it AGAIN and warned that i was on the verge of having my account deleted, WTF?

Most likely because FA has a complete shit-fit over memes [the admin really can come down hard on them even when the original artist never meant it to become one or the subsequent artists make them very personalised.]

I think they probably pulled it because some fundie got butthurt. Sagan is public domain. If you really wanted to go through the hassle, you could always draw him. :3 I liked that idea.

It was probably pulled because it was a meme-type thing. I made a demotivational once and it was pulled almost immediately. Something about keeping the galleries to actual art....which a lot of people don't do anyway, so whatever.

It is in fact against the rules and this is in fact an art site not a Carl Sagan fan site, or a "post what you found on Google" site, no offense to Balaa.

I'm not the one who reported it, in fact I had no idea it was even there nor do I really care, but I think it's silly that people are like "OH THAT PERSON THAT REPORTED IT SUCKS!" and "OH THE ADMIN THAT REMOVED IT HAS NO SENSE OF HUMOR." No, they're just trying to keep FA an art site, not a secondary Google images memory bank.
Of course a lot of people that report stuff on Popufur's pages are just looking to be "better" than the Popufur, by getting it removed, or looking forward to seeing some butthurt, but let them be pathetic and move on, yes?

while I absolutely agree that this is an art site, personal profile pictures are very often photos people use and I would not say profile pictures quite fall under the same rules. I see plenty of photos being used as profile images and while I am usually irked by an excess of random pet photos etc in people's galleries I always figured profile pics were a bit of an exception to the rule because they are more of an extended avatar not art.

Scraps have to adhere to the AUP too.
And the personal pictures I find just as annoying, especially since 90% of them are people saying how "sexy" they are and generally being egotistical.


Animal/Pet Photos - Animal/pet photographs may not contain sexually graphic or suggestive content. Images of pets feeding or otherwise preying upon other animals (live or dead) are prohibited.


Self Portraits - Self portraits photographs are allowed provided they meet quality, photo dump/similar content and artistic merit standards. No more than three self portraits are permitted in a single gallery. Photographs that focus solely on a person's random body parts (hands, feet, etc) do not count as personal photos and are prohibited from upload.

Most of them violate AUP anyway.
