Marlin's new name has been decided. He will now be know as Ma'ii (ma-ee). A little explanation. Ma'ii is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog which is actually a mixture of Dingo and Blue Merle Collie. It was because of him my love for him and my love of the south west that I discovered my fursona/spirit animal to be a Coyote, and in honor of him, I named her Dingo. I wanted a name that intertwined him with myself so after much thought, I settled on the name Ma'ii, which is Navajo (the local native american tribe here in AZ) for "Coyote". I was warned by my husband that the name is held in sort of a negative light out here, because it is associated with tricksters and deception. That's Ma'ii in a nut shell, the king of manipulation and tricks. That's the ACD in a nut shell. And while I suppose there's more to it then that, that's me in a nut shell.
