Why? What makes them unoriginal?

Take a long enough view, EVERYONE'S characters are unoriginal.

Their designs scream generic to me. Compared to some people's characters I've seen on here that have original and memorable designs, and if you saw them, you'd go "Oh, I know who that is!" where mine are just bland and dumb and stupid and dumb.. and dumb.

Why not combine the parts you like about animals and make a new species? (Combine your favorite tail, ears, belly, head, nose, whiskers etc.) or just make a character that is made up of parts we normally don't see, like a character with an arm but the hands are water that's just in the shape of hands, like they're part water elemental?


It depends DissidentLove, its not so much the character its how they're used. Personality over looks. However for an artist they can still have personality in their character, just needs to make his characters different by their backgrounds and personalities.

That's how you tell identical twins apart, their personality.

I already have a character that's a few animals put together. I dunno. I still just... bleh. I like my characters, but at the same time I don't..

Like them but you don't.....is it there names that you don't like or something about them makes them not look that creative? Is the issue that they don't look that creative?

If so then change them up by small things, eye color(s), fur color(s) etc.

Maybe give them stripes of some kind?

Maybe have different/exotic fur color such as one character who has blue, green and orange fur.

I don't know, I see yours and I instantly recognize them. I mean, I haven't seen too many people like Spade. :3

Spade isn't my character though.. and you designed her color scheme and personality.

You still came up with the initial design, and for that I am grateful. ANd your constructin of her and all helped influence my design choices. :3

To be honest I don't think so. Your characters all have unique body shapes and faces. I know because I've drawn a few of them...If this doesn't change your mind, don't kill Vespera.
They don't look like anyone elses that I've seen.

._.; Well, thanks... I thought you thought that they were unoriginal or same-ish compared to one-another. But, thank you.. I most likely won't get rid of any of them, but it frustrates me sometimes, you know?
