Commission Ideas?

Holy crap, three journals in one week? It's like I'm making up for lost time or something.
Recently, when searching for ideas for picture commissions, I've been having trouble coming up with stuff. I used to have a running list of pictures I wanted to have made, but I've actually nearly reached its end, thanks to all the awesome artists and such here. I still have some commission money to throw around, though, and because of that, I wanted to put the questions forward:
To anyone: Do you have anything you'd like to see Duino doing/saying/being? I can't say I'll run out and get an artist to draw anything you say (especially if it's stupid (unless it's really, REALLY stupid and has to be done)), but surely one of myeighty-something millions of fans has a request or two.
To Artists: This is secondary, but I'm curious: do you like being told specifically what to draw, or do you have more fun with something like suggestions? Or even just being given a character and being told to "go crazy?" I've always wanted to do that third one to a few different artists, though I'm not sure if it's in good taste.

Very helpful. Thank you, Rush. Oh, and for the record, I can attest that middle ground works for you from yonder doodle sheet. Which I should mention I've shown off to friends who don't even know Duino exists. It's a creepy level of hype.
So anyway, I hate to give this answer but it's totally case-by-case.
I do my best work when I'm not told what to do at all, even by myself. That is, I do best when I'm not forcing myself to draw something and it's just something I want to draw. Some artists work better with artistic freedom, and some will expect you to to give them a little to go by, though I'm pretty sure most artists won't NEED you to tell them exactly what you want. If it's any artist worth their salt then they should be able to design situations and poses to draw on their own. But some artists won't have a problem with being told what to draw, and some will. Though I imagine that the ones that open for commissions have at least figured out how to draw what someone else tells them too.
I think a bigger part of it is your character design. The better it is, then the more fun an artist can have with your drawing, at which point they'll probably produce better things, because artists have good taste.
usually.
Good artists have good taste at least.
Speaking of which you should find an artists who has the same taste as you.
I know it's case-by-case, but it's more a question of what's socially acceptable or not. Most artists are going to need and ask for elaboration, but would starting off by giving them free range come as offensive or lazy somehow? I don't want to make it a steadfast rule, but there's an artist or two with said similar taste out there I'd love to throw money at but don't want to put off. In the end I'll always end up including a few basic character tidbits and ideas, since that's something really useful, but I've always wondered what would happen if I left that part out.
