I want to say I'm sorry to everybody, I did something stupid that I should have given more thought to. I uploaded a comic with an image that I recreated from another artist without his consent first. I am in the process of contacting him, something I should have made the effort to do before I uploaded it, instead of using the submission as a means to find a viewer who knew how to contact him. I will apologize to him once I reach him, and I'm not expecting forgiveness or approval. I want to take responsibility for my actions.
I guess I just didn't expect it to be a big deal, which clearly shows I wasn't using my head. Even though I was crediting him and admitted that the image was completely his (but redrawn by me), that doesn't excuse disrespecting a fellow artist by showing the world before getting consent.

I'm not trying to play a pity card, I didn't do this thinking "oh I can sneakily get away with it." Like I said, I didn't put enough importance on the matter, and everyone on this planet makes mistakes. I'm just trying to own up to it. I'd feel the same way you do if I were in your shoes. But I'm really not the type to do something like this, I was just looking through it with stupid goggles.

Well, there are a LOT of pieces like that for me. I can understand your reasoning there. Still not cool, in the grand scheme of things, but you could have handled it MUCH worse. At least you admitted it was Karabiner traced and didn't claim it was your own.
Meh. Give it a week, the teeming throngs of drama-sluts will find another topic to harangue soon enough. It takes a lot of courage to admit you fucked up, and I can respect someone who does so. Admit it, that is, not the fucking up part.

Yes, you should have asked permission before copying another artists work for an image of your own (I'm guilty of this sin myself, I'm ashamed to say), but you weren't trying to pass it off as 100% your own or trying to make any money from it.
A mistake sure, but no need to crucify yourself, or allow yourself to beat you up for it. Just recognize the mistake and move on.
Btw, you have nothing to be sorry for infront of us. Of course public announcement is brave thing to do, but i guess this is none of our busyness, so.. you only need to settle this with person you (maybe) offended.

You learned your lesson and you're truly sorry. I'm not sure what else anyone can ask for, but that's enough in my book.
Dust yourself off and keep going! You're a fantastic artist and people will support you so long as you continue to bare the humility to fess up when you make mistakes.
