I liked the books! I want to see the movie too, though movies usually don't live up to books, for me anyway. SoI'm glad to hear the movie was good. Glad I missed the opening crush though, I haaaate crowds.

THe movie was pretty similar to the books, I have to say. They just left out a whole bunch of world-building (for some reason they specifically didn't explain the significance of the mockingjay, for example).

I agree, this is the best review I've ever read. For some reason, I can't stop smiling because you, Arpad, said "I want to kill everyone". Bahahaha.

I remember when I was young, and we went to see "The Last Unicorn" on the movies when it was all-new, three rows forward sat a little family, and someone down there smelled like somethign many days dead, mixed with a sharp stench that made ym nose burn and threatened to turn my stomach. I missed out most of the film's atmosphere because of that obviously rotten family down there. (the air vents shoved the air towards the rear of the rows, and there was nobody else in front of us, so it MUST have been them.)

You should read the books, that stuff is intense.

Already read them, which is why we went opening night. They ARE intense.
This movie made me want to re-read them :( it was like a quick summary of book one where they showed clips from all the big scenes but didn't go into any of the delicious, delicious world-building at all.

Yeah, can't believe they're children's books. Had me depressed for days until I realized the brilliance of the reason for the grimdark turn of it all (readers are Capitol and all that).

Is Cinna and his costumes awesome in the move as well?

I feel like there are a lot of books that are regarded as children's books which are also very appropriate for adults.

And unfortunately, I think my imagination might be a little more vivid then the movie or something, I was disappoint. Especially in the interview scene (maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but didn't her dress turn into a mockingjay? It has been a while since I've read them) - her dress just catches fire again.

In the second book her dress turns into the mockingjay, in the first one it just caught fire.

When i heard the news say Love triangle i threw up and vowed to never watch it

I was actually pretty satisfied with the amount of loveydovey they put in the movie. There really wasn't much, if any. It seemed pretty apparent that Katniss was just with Peeta for survival, and Gale just sort of stared at the screen every now and again. No corny internal monologues or anything.

How I managed to stumble upon your page I have no idea, but I am certainly glad I did. Reading this journal was a great ending to my night, it made me laugh...alot.
