Peter & Company ANIMATED - Help make it happen!
What if your childhood imaginary friend were actually your guardian angel?
Such is the concept behind the Peter & Company ( peterandcompany.com ) comic, by the very talented Jonathan Ponikvar.
peterandcompany is his FA account, with all but the earliest strips in the series posted here. To read the strip from the start, go here: http://www.peterandcompany.com/2005/01/01/strip-1/
Anyway, Jon has been working with an animation studio to iron out details for putting together a pilot for an animated series, based on the comic. This pilot could then be shopped around to the various cable networks that might pick up such a series, like Cartoon Network and the like. As I understand it, he now has everything lined up except funding, which will be covered in the form of donations. Rather than do the typical FA post asking for donations (which typically gets mixed results, at best), he's created a donation campaign, on a site designed just for this sort of thing.
I'm a big fan of this series, and would LOVE to see it make the jump to animation. So please, go read the comic, and if it doesn't capture your imagination, you're a heartless...(ahem)... Er...and if it captures your imagination, please go here - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....animated-pilot - and donate. Any amount will help, and starting with a mere $10 donation, you get ARTZ!
Personally, I'd love to be able to donate $100, to get an autographed, sketch-added copy of the actual book. Hell, I WISH I could afford $1500 to be made a permanent character in the comic, but...*sigh* Anyway, there are PLENTY of other levels in between there, or you can just donate out of the kindness of your heart, and excess of your wallet. If nothing else, at least check out the comic. I think it's a really great story, anyway...
