Upcoming Awesome! & Sakura Sunday in Philly
13 years ago
I'm one happy wolfeh. I know I shouldn't have, but I splurged on myself a bit this past month. And I should be receiving some absolute awesomeness in the next few days - a tail-belt & pouch commission from Lupa, coyote mini-headdress, snake vertebrae earrings, and an antler/stone pendant. And I got a serious destash haul from Zhon that is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Cougar and Bear head forms, some green leather that I'm hoping will work with the Huntress outfit, a Zebra hoof, sheep face, and a nice stack of fur scraps. Given that I've wanted to dabble in mask work and expand my taxidermy collection (and usage in crafts), I feel like tomorrow's a holiday!
I just hope I can find the time (and work space) to make use of all this XD Right now I have to do most of my physical artwork when the toddlebit is asleep because I don't have a dedicated room for it. Digital is easier because the computer desk makes for an easier territory to defend. Drying clay and paint? Much harder. The horns I made last week were painted in a workspace I set up on the kitchen stove XD (Off, of course.) We've rearranged the kitchen since though; it's a small apartment thing but I think I might have enough room to bring in the folding chair and a TV table now to work on. Wish me luck!
I also have a new stash of beading and painting supplies, so I'll be making use of those to make up a bunch of horns to put on the Etsy, and will try my hand at a few necklace designs I have in mind as well, along with totem wind chimes and talisman charms. Given that I already work full time, all that's going to move a bit slowly since I do my artwork on weekends and evenings. And weekends have been quite the filled up commodity lately, with the Furbowl and Movie Day last weekend, Easter this, and the Sakura Sunday festival next weekend.
Any chance any of you will be in Philly for that on the 15th? I'll be there with my husband and his martial arts training partner, and wouldn't mind a chance to say hi to any fellow furs who might be there ^x^
