Running Wild
Running Wild is a German heavy/power/speed metal band formed in 1976 in Hamburg. The band played and sang about pirates and things alike. Their active years were from 1976 to 2009. When I read that they are finished, a small tear formed around my eye. This was the band that introduced me to magical world of metal. Then, just last year they formed back and announced their new album called "Shadowmaker". I was the happiest person in my town that day. I called my friends who like this band as much as I do and we had a great party in their honor, listening only to the good ol' Running wild. My old heroes have returned, alive and kicking.
Although I think the "Shadowmaker" will be their style changer, I still have no doubt that they will make an awesome comeback. My only fear is that they will make the same mistake as Hammerfall with "Infected". Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Hammerfall, but something in my mind says that they can do MUCH better than that. Bands nowdays started to play for money, not for fans. I'm willing to cross the fucking ocean to watch Running Wild put on their pirate uniforms and rock our world inside out as they did year after year before I was even born.
Why am I writing about this now, when they reformed last year? Well it is this year that they will release their new album. I think of this little journal as a tribute to my heroes.
To all the rock and metal fans out there, let us join up and shout: YOU CAN'T KILL THE METAL.
Much love, Jolly Raccoon.
