and you should feel good about it too :)
There where only 2 things that had this kind of impact on me the first was Babylon 5 (i am almost sure you know it "gawd sent me .." had to chuckle about that one :D) and the second one was the ending of Six feet under , the later one just triggered the same emotional reaction while b5 and your story triggered the emotional thing and in the aftermath that sudden urge to add something, don't get me wrong , the ending is perfect but at the same point perfectly imperfect, you read it, and after you stopped crying and getting a bit distance to it you say "oh come on that can't be everything there has to be more ! i want more !! AND I WANT IT NAOOO !!!".
While you read it, you know that the story reached an inevitable end but there is still that voice in your head constantly yelling 'objection !', there are still so many questions so much felt unfairness and suddenly story blips start to pop up in your mind, all the unmentioned things all the unfair things, and you start to draw a new side story in your mind to infuse it into this world and fix things.
Then you think about it again and decide you don't wanna touch it because its perfect, its like an house of cards where some of the cards are kinda twisted and there are even some missing ones, it stands and it looks awesome and unique like this but every time you see it you feel the urge to fix it and you immediately get ideas how to do so, in the end there is always that voice that warns "but it will not be the same anymore if you succeed".
Its pretty much the meaning of an inspiring story and ending, and a little bit frustrating for me personally ^^
So Congratulations for the 1 year Anniversary hopefully it will continue to grow in reader counts and get even more people to give this story a try.
Still a proud fan of this sub-fandom.
