(Imagine if either the Lord of the Rings trilogy or the Harry Potter series had been written as a single tome!) - ah, but it was. I heard that Tolkien originally submitted it in one manuscript and was annoyed when the publisher decided break it up into 3 books with a staggered release. I have it as one 1000 page book, plus appendix with a primer to Elvish and Dwarvish runes, and found it readable (though only if I picked up from where the first movie ended, skipping pages and pages boring me to tears about what a hobbit is and life in the shire!)

This did make your fanfic sound interesting, though I've not played Fallout so I'm not sure if it would make sense to me, the game seems a wierd setting.

No understanding of Fallout is necessary. The story takes place in post-apocalyptic Equestria, so the setting is that of the show.
