Yeah, I think it's a bit retarded myself. If they are going to have an adult fursuit category, doesn't this imply suggestive pictures? I know alot of my friends that post silly pictures just for fun and even though they may look suggestive, they aren't. I dunno, I think the admins seriously need to consider the huge uproar they just created and rethink themselves...

I can't speak for all people my age, but I'm 15 and hardly find something like a paw on a butt offensive.

My other 2 cents on this issue:

FA basically has 4 main categories of people that look at their stuff.

Artists

Fursuits

Trolls

Other (people who just like to look)

You piss off the fursuiters enough to where they leave, the artists won't have as many people looking at their art, since many commissions involve people who own a suit, which could mean artists work may suffer and may drop out of FA, then since trolls are basically trolls..they will "lower the property value" of FA to where those curious won't be curios anymore..and FA dies.

Maybe not so extreme..but fursuiters are a big part of the draw to FA..don't be stupid and make it so we want to leave. Don't mass purge like some 80 year old Catholic nun prude. If there is a "Fursuit Adult" category and people are having the decency to upload under that category..there should be no problem..its only fair.

Exactly. I'm just glad it was one staff member acting on their own accord, and not an official move by Dragoneer.

I hope they get kicked off the staff for such a foolish stunt.

One thing I've noticed on my part : Last year there were so many faves and such of pictures I like 1k+ and you look at this year and it's not nearly that much to fave anymore because some have left or not drawing or posting fursuit pictures that much anymore. Have you noticed this?

There has also been more drama going on as well.

I missed that Drama Bomb too, but it seems that some Admins did to much, hey, they removed a Fender Picture too, they banned some Popufurs...

Dragoneer posted a journal about the fursuit stuff earlier, its on his page.

Apparently it wasn't an official order, rather it was an admin acting on their own.

Like in any good business however, since this vigilante admin was "hired" by dragoneer..he must also accept the blame as to what is going on. If he has a viable solution for all of this..then great back to business as usual..but he needs to really make sure his staff is on the same page so this crap doesn't blow up like this again.

Oh sure the boss assumes responsilbilty for other staffs actions, however from the large number of comments on the journal it seems its not as clear cut as "admin abuse".

'Neer did say that he would explain everything once the situation is resolved, but as of this comment it isn't resolved (Considering he only found out today, I think we can grant him some time on this one)

He did mention in the comments that he's been letting some staff go in recent times, so I don't know if a re-shuffle is going to happen just yet, but I do agree there needs to be a look through the staff and decide who is following the rules and pulling the weight.
There are a few (I won't name them) who are doing the right thing and they don't deserve to be booted from the position. But not all are squeaky clean.

Looks like things are going to be addressed better soon and the category will indeed be removed. Dragoneer and associated staff members seem to be taking the blame for the mishap so fret not.
