Fumbling first footsteps.

As my first post on a site like this, it seems appropriate to just come out what's on my mind instead of trying to comb through the mess of details. To someone that doesn't take interest in the general culture's followings such as All-American Football, Conan O'Brien, and Hard Rock, it's difficult to find connections. Although, I suppose it is more apt to say it is difficult to open up to find connections when your personal interests don't jive with most people you meet.
Over the years I've come to learn that it's important to be true to yourself. If someone else doesn't like you for who you are, then why adapt yourself to them? You're only going to build yourself up into a second-rate version of another person. Sure, the general populace might look down on the fur culture as a disturbing breed of animal-lovers, but is it really much different than having an interest in science fiction or fantasy? People dress up as orcs and elves without much objection, but if they put on a fursona, they are suddenly considered to be mentally disturbed. Let me make a note here by saying that I don't have much interest in fursuits, but I recognize that those that do put them on are willing to show off who they are.
I'm looking forward to connecting with others here who aren't afraid to show who they are. If you're reading this, don't be afraid to look me up!
