Where did I go?
Hi Folks,
Sorry for going quiet for so long. I've actually been creating photos and I have about a year's backlog of all sorts of things. But the unpredictable rule situation here for animated gifs (slideshow gifs banned no matter the size?) and fursuit pinups (if a suit has breasts, is it sexually modified?) and latex suits (because latex is fetish and fetish is porn) has rather demoralized me about posting. But I will snap out of it.
I don't do explicit porn. But I love a good sexy pin-up. And a good pin-up can be done without showing more "anatomy" than you can see on a typical walk through the general public. Still, there are people out there who feel that fursuits should never try to look sexy and anyone who tries should be opposed.
Or if I were to spend a year creating a Gigeresque alien goat anthro and discover that I can't even post a picture of her fully clothed because she's "fetish latex" then the utility of this site to me as an artist would drop a lot.
OK - I'm done grousing. I just had to get that out of my system. I know that many of those things are insolvable problems for this site. And tomorrow the rules could all change again! ;)

Deviant Art is a possibility - they seem to be on the rise. I should research them more.
DA would of course allow you to be more direct about it, but I think the other two might be worth bearing in mind anyway. Just a suggestion, really.
To me, a better solution would be to replace just your image with a generic message that says "AUP conflict - image blocked". But that preserves all the comments. If you win on appeal, the block message goes away. If you lose, you can still access the comments. And maybe you can add a link to where you are hosting the image off site.
Oh well, preaching to the choir and all that...
I think FA just isn't a good place for fursuit photography anymore in general. Maybe Flickr would be an alternative? It's specifically geared towards photos (unlike FA, which always seems to have treated them as the proverbial red-headed stepchild), and Flickr doesn't have any problems with pin-ups or erotic photos as long as they're correctly labelled as such.
Others (e.g.
And I'm not familiar with DA's quirks. Do they dislike fursuits?
FA is always being extorted with the threat "you don't have a model release which proves that the person in that fursuit is not a minor" - how do the other sites avoid that threat?
Developing a following takes time, yes. You could conceivably do what
As for the "model release" threat, I have no idea, to be honest.
Been wondering where you have been!
Of course, I know multiple people who think elegant dresses and formal wear are sexy. The line between beautiful and sexy is very blurry. In the end what matters is what you like.
I've had the most presence lately on Facebook (Samantha Kemple), but in RL Treads and I have been working on some projects
Anyway, nice to see your pic from MFF! Lookin' good!
Aww, thanks! I can't wait to get the bodysuit for Emmy. ^_^
Anyway - you already know about the secret project...
The only rule you are in danger of hitting is the "too many pics of one character" rule which was here for a year, then rescinded. So you're not impacted until they make up a NEW arbitrary restriction.
Best wishes Hun!
Photo Dump/Similar Content - The uploading of multiple photographs (more than a total of 3 in your gallery) of similar content (similar angle/composition of the same subject in the same location from the same photo session) is not allowed. Users are encouraged to create a collage for these whenever possible. Photo dumps or "junk" photography are not allowed. Select only the best photo(s) from each session/event.
This seems to allow unlimited number of pics as long as you change location, wardrobe, angle, composition, etc.
Just good common sense for publishing photography. I'm good with that.
The down side is another section that describes clothing (and hence fursuit costumes?):
Clothing - All models featured in photography must be appropriately dressed, wearing both top and bottom garments. Underwear, bras or diapers are not considered acceptable articles of clothing. Clothing designed for explicit or implicit sexual themes are prohibited. Costumes, props, masks, jewellery and other worn items are permitted provided they meet the site's General rating (are work safe, rated for all users/ages).
This section sounds mostly reasonable, but the restriction on bras and underwear could easily put my pinup art in a grey area. And what about a sport bra? Swimsuits? And just what is an "implicit sexual theme?"
Hm, it says that they must be appropriately dressed, but a lot of suits are naked or half naked, aren't they?
I usually try to post general photos. :)
And on the non-pony front -- also chatting a bit with the kig crowd and doing some fursuit historian stuff.
