New colouring style - your thoughts?

I imagine by now most of you will have at least passed by my latest drawing. For those who haven't though, you can find it here;

You might notice that i've decided to stop using the 2B to shade and tried to use the colour pencils properly in layers to give a gradient of light to dark. Hopefully i'll get better at it as time goes on, but for now, what are your thoughts on it?
Am I taking a step in the right direction? Is there something i've overlooked? I'm always open to hear what you think.

Both are good. Combine them for success.
