Does anyone know how to create an effect that looks like real glitter?
for example, if I wanted to draw a character that had glitter eyeshadow, What would I use/do/etc. I've tried a few different things but it always looks like total shit. especially when I scan it.

I would personally use a very tiny brush with a very bright color, and just put different colored dots everywhere, and match the shading with the rest of the picture. Of courrse the glitter would be far more reflective.... but eh. Your guess is as good as mine.

Fine-tipped gel pens of appropriate color. For example if you had purple eyeshadow, you'd want to find a pale lavender gel pen and lightly put dots along the highlight on the purple. If you're using photoshop, same principle.

You could use actual glitter? They sell small glitter tubes at a dollar store or something.You can actually glue them on. o.o

Yeah I've tried to do that before and it can't be beat when you can see the picture in real life, but everytime I scan it, it just ends up looking funky XD. Then again my scanner kind of sucks so that may be the case. but thank you so much dahling :'3 <333
