Our government has shown time and time again that they lack the ability to do anything with the best intentions, much less limit themselves to it. From the president down to the lowest rookie clerk, people will abuse any opportunity they're given. Any time companies are given rights above what a citizen has (such as, in this case, immunity to litigation from private citizens), you can be sure a law is not acting in the best interest of citizens.

Shouldn't Congressmen be doing something actually important? Like, I don't know, striking down DOMA?

Crazy thing about this, I read something yesterday about how the FBI is let down this protective net that's been used to protect computers from Hackers using some malware thing to you know get inside. Said something about, if your computer is infected by it by July 9th, then you can't even get on the internet.
