In the name of not being an introverted douche for once! Overview.
Detail.
I liked that sword.
Fuck.
It is inevitable that a sword will break if you use it, but that doesn't make anything suck less.
I suppose there are a couple of things I can do, at least. If I could get the tools, I could file the shoulders on the blade and handle back a bit and make a new thread, or do something else to re-fit the pommel. But as it stands I lack the tools, expertise and time to do such a thing.
Replacement blades are sold for Hanwei's Side Swords as far as I know, but that's still expensive, and poses yet another problem; That blade is far from what it is provided as. I spent a good amount of time re-working the blade to try and remove the normal satin finish and put an ultra-sharp edge on it, which it does in fact have. So just getting a new blade would still put me back before square one.
Edit: Turns out I was mistaken, they don't.
Burgh.
