Capturing a Firefly, writing the transcendant

If writing about the human condition and the deepness of personal experience in a way readers can take into their own self image is hard. Then, it's even harder when writing work of a more adult nature. Worse yet if you're writing with any kind of kink in the story because of how subjective it becomes.
But it's always worth a try. Part of what separates pornography from erotica is a strong vision and a presence of that vision in the work. Ero has something beyond the usual exhibition of sexuality and delves into strong exploration not just of that same theme of sexuality, but also the characters involved. How have they found themselves here and how will their encounter change the way they view the world?
A real story is a discussion and deconstruction of ideas and the world they populate. I think we, as writers and readers of any fiction (and, if you're of the persuasion, adult fiction) should try to reach for that standard in the work we produce and consume.
