Yeah I did too for the most part, but got bullied some as well. Although I remember all the great things that happened and don't dwell on the shitty times or let them decide my outlook on life which he's seemingly down .-.

He's not the greatest dancer this side of Rigel, but it don't mean he can't get there. What interests me very much is that he, at his level of practice, still treats it like it's an immediate thing. I totally get that, but I got through that insecurity within three months of dancing Tecktonik. I didn't know as many moves back then nor did I move like I do now, but it was at FWA when I completely dropped any inhibitions and got myself off the plateau of not feeling like I could potentially get good at Tecktonik. I started moving completely different by the saturday rave, and that experience was the basis for where I am now because that was the first time that I really let my arms go completely lose without much effort. I'm still not great at Tecktonik, but I'll get there. I realize that it's not exactly easy to dance something that very few people dance here(eliminating contact learning), that watching blurry videos in French when you can barely understand the language doesn't simplify the process of learning how to dance it. I dance now because it's fun. I don't have concrete goals or reasons beyond that. Trying to get into the Dancecomp next year maybe, but it'll always be a recreational thing for me, particularly now. I dance all the time, good or bad. I like it. It took me a long time to figure that out, but I really genuinely like it.

I think Skrat dances for fun. He looks like he does, sometimes too much even. But he's got to realize it's a work in progress. And he's also got to realize that in a subculture of this size, popularity doesn't mean that much. He's also got to realize that spamming the facebook feed with the newest melodrama doesn't get him closer to some sort of percieved spot at the top of the popufur(oxymoron) pyramid. It gains him contempt and notoriety. That being said, I really don't think we should have a static opinion of him as a person. That's a very big problem with a lot of people, that they are incapable of factoring in the passing of time and the fact that people change. Here's to hoping he changes!

i'm not knocking his dancing in any way bud, im just saying his reaction to everyone and justification for it is impolite. and the way he wants to use this form of art for his own self gain of attention and/or status is disrespectful to the art and everyone else who appreciates it. Whether or not skrat is dancing for fun or popularity neither of us will actually ever know but to be honest his behavior and reaction to the environment surrounding him are pointing me to believe he wants status from his dancing. Now i personally are apart of several subcultures and have reputations in alot of them some bigger than others. I realize how significant popularity is throughout each of them and in most of the other cultures it's really insignificant.

Now as the popular furry thing as an oxymoron goes, i have to respectfully disagree. Albeit i doubt there are any furs that are legitamate celebrities in the actual world there are furries within the fandom that have gained a high profile status due to their talents, fursuits/photos, or pure coincidence. Whatever it may be when referring to a popular fur (because i refuse to use that word) it's more in the context of within the fanbase and the subculture itself.

Popufur being and oxymoron is something I say that's rather sarcastic. This fandom is full of rather non-nerdy people and I'm totally aware of that.

And about the dancing, I'm not addressing something you said and rather the stuff he says. He has the false perception that the reason why people like you won't talk to him or pay attention to him is because he dances bad and he always just knocks himself for his dancing. But this phenomena is probably just relegated to Facebook. He's got a shit ego issue he needs to address.
