Mice owners?
So I may be adopting two adult mice from a co-worker/new friend because she has two dogs and doesn't have the time to take care of them properly.
Them:
They are very tame, all grown and sisters. I saw them being handled by 10 random 5 and 6 year old children and they were completely cool with it. One of them might nip you when you pick her up, the other is as sweet as a lamb.
They come with their own toys and two wheels, in their own glass tank.
Me:
I've owned a dwarf hamster before and know how to take care of those. I even did research to see which local garden plants were edible to give it a varied diet. I have already handled both mice and they were completely fine with me.
You:
Have you got any advice, hints or tips that might be useful to know? I will naturally do my research online but you never know what you'll miss.

Get them some cotton or small bits of wool, and keep aspen as their bedding or that special paper waste stuff. The cotton or wool will serve as a great nesting material that they'll enjoy balling up in. They are rather low maintenance, and you can keep them entertained with various household items of course like torn up paper towels and the toilet paper rolls. I like to give mine a small dose of peanut butter on my finger sometimes. They fucking love it. AS long as they have plenty to chew on, and explore and mess with, like a little tunnel and a wheel and such, they will be fine. They might get into slappy fights as sisters but they should be fine housed together.
If you have a runabout ball that you used for your hamsters, they probably will not use it. I've tried a small ball with all my mice, and they all are like "wut" when I put them in it. The wheels though, they can't get enough of. If you are not a heavy sleeper though, don't keep them in your room, or get a silent wheel. If one or both of them are rather obsessed with the wheel, it will squeek alllllll night.
They're used to having hay as nesting material, and sometimes cotton, with wood shavings everywhere else. Shouldn't be hard to keep it that way, I imagine. And thanks for the tips on keeping them entertained.
I was thinking about getting a hamster ball and see how they react to it. It would be a great way for them to explore the room.. that is, if they don't get scared or derp like yours. XD
I also kept my hamster at the time, in my bedroom. He really loved the wheel but it didn't keep me awake at night. He did sometimes chew on the bars though... but that won't be a problem now.
