Furries aren't obsessed with sex?
Yeah, right. Just found a furry TCG. Interesting concept, could be like pokemon.
Nope. Nothing like pokemon at all.
Its all about sex. attacking is "swinging" and defending is "putting out" .There is litterally nothing to do with this game that is NOT ABOUT SEX.
And its fucking stupid.
Honestly? I hate things that are all about sex and all about pleasuring other people, random people. I just...this is so why I hated furries forever, and I still do for the most part. Argue all you want, but life isn't about sex and this is pathetic. Give me my normal TCG nerds who tap cards to play attacks like magic fucking ball of darkness, not "my dick gets bigger."
FUCK YOU ARTEMIS FOR TAKING ME HERE. FUCK YOUUUUUUUUU
Edit: This is why I will never go to furcons. EVER. rampant "FURRE" sex and orgies and STD spreading and non monogamous sex and jealousy and drama and tons of bullshit and guys who think they have harems and just FUCK this FUCKIT

I think I'll skip past the part where taking one fur who likes something and then saying that everyone does is stupid and go on to say
that sex =/= bad.
With an attitude like that, it's no wonder why we have so many teen pregnancies.
Also, don't you make assumptions about me. I am a HEAVY supporter of teaching sex education to teens, INCLUDING abstinence AND safe sex. I do not want to lead our teens astray by teaching them sex is bad and that is NOT what I am saying IN the least. Sex isn't bad. Sex is fantastic; When it's safe, consentual, and I personally believe that sex with random people is not safe.
What I am saying is that RAMPANT, uncontroled, unbridled and usually unsafe sex is bad. In my opinion, having sex more than you need to is unsafe and not necessary. When you're WHOLE life revolves around it as it seems to most furries i've met, then it becomes a huge freaking problem.
with an attitude like mine, teens I've mentored have either chosen to have SAFE sex or been strong enough to abstain when their partner tries to guilt them into it. So that comment absolutely offends the hell out of me.
>The fandom does NOT represent its self in what is a socially acceptable manner, and if you dont think furries have to, then don't be mad when people hate you.
What I'm saying is that this is the Internet.
Sex is everywhere on the Internet.
The only thing you can do is ignore it the best you can.
It's what happens at the cons. It's the people going out in public with animal parts on or beastpaint, and getting mad when people stare at them. Its how real people behave. This TCG is a REAL printed thing, to be played OFF the internet. Trading card game.
They don't represent themselves well ANYwhere and you have to dig deep like I have to find the real, respectful furries who have a semi normal and acceptable behavior.
Sex may be everywhere on the internet, but there is a difference between it existing, and being so common in one group of people that it seems like that's they're ALL about. It makes the fandom look like nothing more than a fetish. Which for some poeple it's not even sexual.
What I'm saying is: Don't act like what you don't want people to think you are.
inappropriate outfit walking around the place. In fact, every single con I have been to had some sort of rule which
stated restrictions on outfits and even hugs.
No not all cons are bad. But there are quite a few that have some pretty bad reputation.
If you could tell me a story about how someone was obsessed with the game, yeah, maybe that could work.
But maybe it's just one part of someone's life?
Maybe for some, but seriously, spending so much time developing a card game with a unique point system based on sitting around a table pretending to have sex with a whole group? Tell me that's not obsessive.
Definition of obsessive:
Of, relating to, characteristic of, or causing an obsession: obsessive gambling.
http://education.yahoo.com/referenc.....ntry/obsessive
You can't say that everyone is playing this game constantly, correct?
So you can't say it's obsessive.
Either way, it's all fantasy, so it shouldn't matter.
If the person is making a TCG about sex. it is likely that they are into sex in many OTHER facets of their lives that come first. Sex RP, sex stories, sex art, etc. When EVERY facet or almost every facet of your life has to do with something, anything, it is an obsession.
For me, cooking is an obsession. When I learn about cultures or languages, I learn about the food and often cook dishes from it. I like to study even the most insignificannt cultural significance of every ingredient. Almost all my characters can cook. I've written essays in school about cooking. Almost every part of my life has to do with that. Is that not an obsession?
And as I said, it may not be an obsession for all. My point is that from a psychological standpoint, making something that is not meant to be sexual into something sexual, and then adding the fact that it was made for and by a group that is typically SEEN as overly sexual, one cannot help but consider it a fixation on sex.
Don't take the words out of context. You're showing a blatant logical fallacy here.
She's saying that having a card game about sex, in this fandom that is nothing but sexual deviants at the surface, is SHOWING OBSESSION.
Not necessarily being obsessive, but PORTRAYING OBSESSION.
There is a difference.
My whole point of this journal was: Don't get mad when people think you're weird if you come off as weird. If yo don't want people to think you're weird, then don't act like that. If you don't care what people think, blow it off. I'm just tired of furries going "we're not obsessed with sex!" and then not recognizing the way other members of the fandom portray themselves.
Thank you for your input. It may not seem like it but I do enjoy debates and appreciate an intelligent discussion.
But, there's obvious apathy about WHY it is so in the first place but complete and total butthurt when someone outside of the fandom is like "Go away you freak. Yiff in hell furfag."
That kind of sentiment just baffles me, is all.
Is that at the surface, instead of dissecting the fandom, we look like sexual deviants, and no one will take the time, nor WANT to take the time to find the decent people.
The porn, the sex games, the stories, the supposed "behavior at the cons" make us look like undesirable freaks.
The point being is that people don't understand the sense of community because they can't see past the sexual deviancy that is rampant, especially on the internet.
FA, sofurry, e621, inkbunny, pounce, and other places are absolutely no acception.
Yeah, and the trading card game sucks.
(sorry for the little rant)
Your art is fantastic by the way, dear. :3 I LOVE your style.
Aww, thank you as well! :D
Altho we both know that your view and my views on sexuality don't match up- I don't feel that sex in the furdom too terribly overwrought. In fact I feel that- in mirror to modern society- the main sex-issue the furdom has is that we are still young (what- 20 years or so?) and the fanticy aspect of this particular sect allows for people to freely express something that (in polite society) is very Taboo. THUS you see more of it than most would want to see on a daily basis. THe problem comes when you have people who want to live though the furry community without understanding that- for many people- it is a sexual outlet. I would like to point out that many successful artists and furries have great groups on FA that revolve around living peacefully without yiff being the center of attention. And- if you like- once you fall in with theas people living yiff free is not necessarily a problem.
NOW- while I'm not advocating those people who cannot show common courticy in public (just cus you are a furry- and I am a furry- dos not mean i want to yiff you IRL) I also do not agree with the amount so sex-shaming that comes with most people who are "anti-yiff"
but that's a whole other topic XD
The thing is, I see it far more rampantly within the Furry fandom specifically. I do not think it mirrors real life at all. Not in the same aspects at least. It's different, to me. I don't like non furry society either, you know that Lol. Furries do it in a more obsessive manner, as where non furries do it in a more wreckless manner. It's not taboo to ME for people at the age of 17-24 to have sex....I'm seeing more of it than I'd ever want to, regardless of the age group. They could be in their thirties and if I saw/heard as much about sex as I do from furries my age I'd STILL be irritated. It's the part animal part that makes it taboo to people, in any case. Not the age group. Non furs the same age are having as much sex. My point is that it looks more outward, and for the most part is. No, it's not, but how is it that people can get to know furrs without yiff involved if they're scared away by the overt sexuality? Not to mention, as someone posted above you as a clean artist, has been heckled, actually been given hell over refusing to draw Yiff art because of her own moral or personal respects.
That's another point I have. The very fact that it is a sexual outlet for some makes it weird to others. If it is that, I think it is more courteous to keep it to yourselves and partners. Spreading it out to the world is not exactly helping the case either. Most people into BDSM and such don't go around to the world saying "Look at me, this is my sexual outlet and you HAVE to accept it". They keep to themselves. Most furries I know kinda shove it in peoples faces.
I am not sex shaming. I am not anti yiff. I am anti obsession. There is a rather long post above that I've written to someone else, that shares my views on the sex shaming culture. What I'm doing is behavior shaming.
http://www.sciencefictionfetish.com.....bes/custom.htm There is one for the science fiction people... And Anime lover's get it even worse with hentai and Most Manga.... No I am not into the sexual side (I have a sexual side, yes, but the fandom is about the art, the music, and the giving for me)
And as for your statement of having sex in fursuits.... 110 degree body... sooo sexy x.x *gag*
http://vimeo.com/17995012 Listen to what Uncle Kage says... he is a wise man there...
Nothing against ya there... but just saying.... http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2967881/ Many many questions asked and answered by many other furs.
Another one for you, all the sex shops... Sex card games board games ect for the normal person....
I am not trying to offend you in the least, just stating it is not a good way to judge a group, yes there is a ton of bad media, but good as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cJBcUahgz8 Randomness that furs honestly do... That was a couple weeks after we raised over 5k for a women's victims shelter.... Just sayin and all >.> Much love though! And yes you are entitled to your opinion, as everyone is, I just want people to make fully informed opinions...
I don't think you've read all my posts.
If the group doesn't want to be judged by that, then they need to STOP they're behavior. At the LEAST keep it for private quarters. Not everyone is going to take the time, as I have, to find the furries that aren't posting the bad media to people.
No offence but none of your links will change my mind. I've been very much observant of the furry fandom for years.
And the sex shop thing? I hate non furry society too for being overly sexual. I'd play those games with my lover ONLY to spice up our relationship. But the idea that a game is made to get a group of people together to do sexual thigns, even if not physical, just makes me ill.
Again, I've met good furries. I watched furries raise $20k for a restaraunt that was being forced to close recently. I have to reiterate OVER AND OVER that I know that not all furries are like tihs. BUT there are REASONS most society views you this way. Change it if you don't like it, Don't get on peoples backs for not knowing because the surface scares them. It's not THEIR faults. If furries want people to accept them, they're going to have to accept people too. and especially accept that their lifestyles arent seen as typical and that it would be kind not to behave so rashly before getting to know people. It's like anything else: Get to know someone first, their flaws/clashing interests or ideals seem to not matter.
I do agree that a lot of furs give forth this idealisim that they may be much more sexual creatures or deviants by the way they present themselves. I draw a lot of porn and yes, I partake in yiffy rp sometimes, but I wouldn't consider myself a sexual deviant because I enjoy such things. I do think that having such a game out there needs to be one of those behind cosed doors type of things and not something that you should EVER see in a public setting or something that you wheren't personally invited to.
I have noticed, that even at our local major convention, a convention for scifi/gamers and anime that sex was present, but it was kept under the tables (quite literally in the artists sections) or was pushed back inot the back/later hours. So that being said I don't think that it's just the furries that give their fandom a bad name.
(Yes I read or skimmed every post up to mine)
The thing is I don't hate furry porn. I don't hate yiff RP's. I hate it when it's shoved in my face to where I litterally cannot chose not to see it. Which has happened at art sites and picture searches. Search for "wolf girl" in google or something similar, to get a reference for somethign else and 60% of the searches come up with porn.
And that is realllyyy gross....Really REALLY gross and kinda proves my points.
