Larry the Goof: now on lulznet! (aka The Democracy of Art)

You may ask yourselves, why would I post a link to such a site? Especially after not one, not two, but several of my costume photos have found their way onto that inestimable treasure trove of porn, ridicule and online detritus?
It's simple: I find it to be rather hysterical!
Once a piece of artwork, writing, music, or anything creative is placed on the internet it becomes fair game for anyone and everyone to parse, dissect, admonish, praise, ignore, adulate, destroy, interpolate, etc. etc. That is the price one pays for going public, and sharing your dreams and visions with the widest array of viewers imaginable. One cannot claim insult or derive pain from negative views, that's rather silly.
Two pics of Larry the Goof have now been re-captioned, edited, and their heads even grafted onto other art. My xtube account, which I make no secret of having, was linked, photos and video grabs shown and commented upon. Various unrelated photo links were used to compare and contrast. Although I summoned feelings of revulsion and dread for many, I also aroused some respect and genuine fascination from others. I had no say in this, no influence over how the comment thread arose (and it was certainly a lengthy thread!). It was biased, surreal and utterly amusing to me. I admit to having a strange sense of humor!
So where am I going with this?
Am I mad? No, not in either sense of the word.
Will I alter, delete, or edit any current or future work for the edification of the internet public?
Not at all! Doing that would only reflect poorly on my creative process, if it was so easily swayed it would not be worth having.
Will I continue to improve my skills, hone my craft and elevate it to the highest level I can acheive?
You better believe it! This isn't about being stroked or loved, it's all about striving, sweating, and enduring until the process is perfected.
And no process is ever perfected, so time to mop off my brow and keep moving forward! Strive on, creators!

Actually Lulz is more like high school, a nonstop parade of gossip, judgement, and ridicule.
These are things I am happy to get away from now that I'm out of school.
If I couldn't see the humor in life, I would be a rather miserable individual!
10 seconds on your xTube account and I was knee deep in clown porn.
I think you could bring it back.
Y'know , I think I miss Bozo. He wasn't a laugh in your face kind of clown. He was a down to earth, nice guy type of clown.
I've seen a bit of Bozo, and I certainly appreciated his manner. He wasn't overly emphatic or theatrical, and although I'm not sure the kids in the audience were in love with him, at least he didn't scare the shit out of them!
Horror clowns are a very mixed bag. They can be very powerful, and I loved Tim Curry in "IT". That said, with the plethora of haunted attraction scary clowns and such, no wonder the general public thinks most clowns are frightening serial killers and/or child molesters. They should have more consideration for the way of the Clown, it's rather foolish of them to get easy scares in exchange for a lifetime of fear and mistrust.
I have great respect for good clowns, they have a transformative power over an audience and show us a very different perspective on life.
He was damn creepy in the first half and really funny in the second.
I admit I'm not a clown-o-phile.
As a child I would have probably run the other way. Though, I was very shy, so the same could be said of Mickey or Mario or anyone else I enjoyed as a child.
However, I find them fascinating, just the idea of a clown.
A clown isn't human. Humans have sadness, hate, guild, shame, etc..
Clowns don't have that. Just laughter and craziness.
I can't even begin to describe it without sounding like a kook.
Here, have some clown rock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnLNXquIBVs
I can't listen to this sound without imagining clowns. Evil clowns, but clowns
I do feel that clowns can have all the emotions a regular human have, as they are still human in certain regards. Those emotions do get filtered through a unique perception and interpretation of the world. Some go the manic zany route, others are more reserved and precise. I do love a good verbal clown, one with great wit or a good sense of wordplay, simply wonderful to watch. But the ones who can whittle down a feeling to the most elegant form in the most effortless manner, that's a true master performer.
No worries about kookiness towards clowns, they are not easily understood and can take a lifetime to appreciate.
Mr. Bungle! I do like Mike Patton's work, his Mr. Bungle project I'm only so-so about, I like his Fantomas work a lot more. If you want a great soundtrack to a great film, he scored for Crank 2: High Voltage, a sick and awesome movie!
I meant in a more of a figurative sense
But you're right, there is a wide variety of clowning styles to choose from. I was just blinded by my love of zaniness.
Also, I'm not so sure of Mr. Bundle myself.
I'm only really familiar with that album, and I really only care for bits and pieces.
As for Crank2. I thought that was a very good sequel. I prefer the first, but the second does justify it's existence. Which is more than I can say for a lot of sequels these days (oooh, I'm getting snobby now, aren't I?).
I admit, I didn't pay too much attention to the music, I'm often distracted by all the pretty lights and car crashes. Next time I see it, I'll have to keep an ear out, that's such an intense movie.
Zany clowns can be good, like a barrel of monkeys! Sadly they can often devolve into mindless slapstick with no throughline or punchline. I should check out some commedia del arte clowning, that's a crazy mix of physical, verbal and character clowning!
I absolve myself of all blame.
Also, this commedia is pretty artsy stuff.
Not sure I have the background to appreciate this stuff properly.
Checked out a few vids. This one was the most curious to me though:

Also, I found this right in the related videos.
Seems pretty interesting if you watch it from the beginning. I personally had never seen more than few seconds of Kabuki theater in my life prior to this. I had no idea...

I am getting more interested in theatre though. It's like a whole way of life that I have to explore. I'm mostly a movie person, I need to leave the confines of the cineplex!
The validity of the "facts" that they spread about people are dubious at best.
It's no better than a high school cafeteria full of of freshmen yelling back and forth at each other.
"You're a dog fucker!"
"No, you're the dog fucker!"
"Did someone say dog fucking?"
**insert 20 pictures of dogs with various objects in their asses**
"You're all sick..."
"Shut up, you have herpes"
"No I don't!"
"Wait... who are we talking about again?"
end thread.
Not saying their not equipped to make observations about the hilarity of Goofey with his cock hanging out, but I don't think they should get TOO much credit as being the benchmark of the furry community.
Most furries would be all butt hurt and mass delete everything.
So, +1 respect.
Thank you.
As for trolls and creeps, they often convey a certain truth that may seem ugly or warped but can be learned from and even admired. I have spoken to a couple self-professed trolls and find what they do can be an artform all to itself.
That, and I admit some of my characters can be very creepy and disturbing, even to myself!
Maybe around Halloween I'd dress up and go to NYC to hit the big parade, ride the subways. I have a dirty rat character I'm just dying to do that with! So long as I don't get stabbed or shot I'll be fine!
Seattle pig nose stalker, that sounds pretty intense!
I'm glad the stuff ended up on Lulz, tbh. Found something good to do with my afternoon.
And you're great for taking it so well too.
For all the things said on Lulznet it was nice to see some who liked and defended the work, so I am glad it provided entertainment and pleasure. Thank you!
How much, squirrel?
