Theres a wild fire a few miles from my house, kinda freaking out since my house is backed by a huge forest, if it jumps the road and hits the forest by my house. I'm fucked.
Dont know how crazy it will get or how scared I should be.
*UPDATE*
"the brush fire has grown to about 100 acres. It is 10 percent contained."
“We’ve got an area out here that hasn’t burned in probably 25 to 30 years, huge buildup of fuel, we’ve got illegal dumps out there. We’ve heard explosions from who-knows-what, So it’s a concern even going in there. We have our dozers plowing the perimeter. We’re going to end up having to burn the whole perimeter to get this thing secured tonight.”

When the flood hit us last year we almost didn't get out, because my parents were scrambling, trying to get their things in the van before we left. I had to leave my rats behind because of it, but for the next couple of days we got in a canoe and rowed over to my house to check on them (the water was almost to the threshold of our home).
be glad you don't live down under. if eucalyptus trees burn, they suddenly explode with the aetheric oils, and send burning shreds everyhwere, distributing the fire like nothign sane. :/
and thats horrible! I never thought about the oil issue..ill add that to my list of why being a auzzie is scary.
