Wicked spoilers for the Tali romance and ME3 in general, so if you haven't played it, avert your eyes. And I haven't finished the game, so don't spoil anything for me.

So far, ME3 has been the best in the series for me. I've thoroughly enjoyed every mission, especially the quarian mission I just finished.

I loved being able to reconcile the geth and the quarians. I loved seeing legion again and got misty-eyed when he sacrificed himself for his people. I loved reuniting with Tali and seeing the culmination of the romantic relationship I had established in the previous game. It was great to hear her tell Shepard she loves him. She even left a picture of herself for him in his cabin...

Here's the deal. A lot has been said about this picture, I know. But I have to put my two cents in.

Tali's design isn't what bothers me. I think it strikes a decent balance between human and alien features. My only real complaint about the design is all that hair. Seems like that would be really inconvenient when you wear a helmet all the time. So I'd have preferrd she have a shorter haircut.

No, my problem is the picture itself. If you don't know, Tali's picture is a photoshop of a getty stock photo. I've got two problems with this:

- the stock photo doesn't look like an in-game asset, and it break my suspension of disbelief something awful.

- It's lazy. If bioware wasn't going to take the time to model her face they should have just left it out. I've spent three games waiting to see this shit, and a lame photoshop is all you give me?!

I know this probably isn't a big deal to non-tali-romancers, but this is my character's significant other! The love of his life! Did bioware really not think we'd care about this?

All I can hope for is a sureptitious patch in the extended cut that adds a modeled face to that picture frame.

Maybe a shot of her face in the epilogue?

Maybe...?
