A great time at Fur-Eh!

Well I'm back from the trip I took to Alberta. That was a lot of driving and a lot of gas >.<
I planned my trip so that I could visit with my dad in Calgary for a few days, drive to Edmonton for Fur-eh and then make it back in time to see my Dad off to Israel. It worked out perfectly, except for all the money I had to spend, but that will be fixed eventually.
The drive there was 11 hours in total. Waaay too much driving. I left late so I could sleep before hand. Good idea at first but once it was late and pitch black, driving through the mountains, things got a little dangerous. More than half the time, I couldn't even tell where I was on the road. Obviously I made it safely or else I wouldn't be writing this but I did come very close to crashing. That sure was fun. Being blinded by an oncoming truck later to see I was headed straight for a barrier with nothing but dropping cliff on the other side. A very quick turn to the left and then the right and I spin out, doing a full 360' spin, coming to a sudden stop on the other side of the road. I was off the road, safely stopped on a side gravel patch but if I had spun out on any of the other turns, I would have gone splat against a cliff face. So that was my trip to Calgary. Arrived at around 3am.
My visit with my dad and step mom were short but it was still so nice to see them again and to be in Calgary after so many years. As usual, me and my dad didn't do much. Just lazied around and watched all off season 1 of game of thrones together. Hehe, I got him hooked on it so that was great time well spent with family, hehehe.
I left early friday for Edmonton and arrived at the con while things were still getting set up. I was surprised to see a few familiar faces like some locals but what caught me by surprise the most was seeing
cherushi and her mate
amonomega there. It's been 6 years since I last saw them. It was sooo awesome to see them again and hang out. I missed them a lot. For most of the con, I spent my time behind a table in the dealers den next to Cheru and Omega helping out one of their friends sell necklaces. I really enjoyed my time there actually, just staying put and having everyone come up to me ^^. Great way to meet people. Over the course of the con, I made a few new friends such as
Twilight_foxxon and
ShinigamiKitsune, who were also my rooamtes,
Vexatious, a hybrid Snow leopard/Gator fursuiter,
Silver.Nova, a cute and hyper otherkin and
Hato, a toothless loving, fiery dragon.
The con was small with only about 150 people and 30 fursuiters. Though this was my very first con I was a part of a fursuit parade where I got to show off my mask. So if there are photos floating around from the con, you might see me. The last day consisted of a lovely hangover, a nice lunch at WestEd Mall and then a sad goodbye to everyone I had met during that weekend, on my way back to Calgary.
