"When you look at the neural regions generally associated with rewards like money or sex or food, those same regions seemed to respond more robustly when people were engaging in self disclosure than when they were not," says Tamir. "From the evidence we see, there are a couple of different metrics of value -- both monetary and neural -- that show that self-disclosure is subjectively rewarding to people. It's valuable. It goes towards explaining why people do it so often."
And that's why I like obvious verbal announcements. There's a neurological reason for it. bigger picture, it's also why I compulsively draw and write porn and share it to a sympathetic audience here and elsewhere on the internet. "Each 1C in my top right corner is a little dopamine hit", as a commenter on

It's why for all its flaws FA is still the best place to put stuff along these lines - I get similar view counts on Inkbunny, but about 1/4 the faves and even fewer comments, and its comments I like the most. Even a "nice pic" is good to see. IB seems full of silent lurkers. Even working within FA's guidelines it's still a more rewarding source of interaction to post here.

FA+

Its prolly one of the things that helps drive humanity forward with decent success. Little self rewards of a chemical variety of a treat as stated by you and Swatcher.
There is also arguably a brain center and chemical that make folks believe in the presence of a spiritual god.
Some testing showed that increasing this in those of the non believer category resulted in many starting to believe more strongly in a god. Supressing it made believers start to doubt it. With that said, it was also discovered that even those with low levels had a high belief, and in others with a lot of it, did not believe.
In the end it really only proved that your body chemistry and its affects on you as a person, will vary for each individual.
I like feedback even if it's one word.. it still shows somebody cared enough to give an opinion..
So I obviously agree wholeheartedly on this journal =D
Also that's why I like staying here on FA, too.
And I can admit, I know that feeling.
And yeah, that rush is a huge reason I like FA. Taking in material you find compelling is one thing; expressing yourself in return makes it even better.
