Well I'm about as prepared as possible for the 2012 Anthrocon.
Got my train tickets, my Travel health insurance settled (thank heavens for the Canadian Health Care System), got more than one battery for my camcorder and a quick check of my other items indicate that I have enough comfortable clothing for the journey there and back.
Oh yes...
One more thing.
My Moustache has reached optimal levels.
It's strange really. I mean I like my moustache.
It's part of my identity, but somtimes it is a bother to deal with.
The care it requires, finding the correct kind of wax, learning how to eat and drink while having a built-in filter system. Heck just learning how to sleep with one is an adventure.
Trust me when I say that, Facial Hair tends to add a new level of "Bed-Head" to your life.
More than once I've concidered shaving it off for the convention and just removing the fuss from my vacation.
Of course it is how a number of friends I've met there identify me. I remember getting off the train two years ago and there was HKUriah, Thorne and Pepe all standing there like... well maybe not so much the Three Musketeers. More like the Three Stooges, and they were looking through all the peole getting off the train when at the same time all three spotted me and waved.
That being said I guess I'll keep the 'Stache for one more convention. It probably wouldn't be quite the same without it.
In fact recently someone online pointed out to me that my Red hair and big moustache would make a great highlight to a costume.
It weas a pretty good suggestion but I'm not sure that a Humanised version of "FLAM" from the MLP:FIM Episode "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" would really work unless I had a "FLIM" to team up with.
