Getting the (heroic) band together.

General
Not too long ago I came up with a short list of premises that would give a group of characters a reason to hang out together.
Useful for stories or gaming, I felt I covered a fair number of excuses for various people to form a team.
If anyone else has ideas to add, then please... by all means do so.
So... in no particular order I present my 7 best premises.
1: the Goonies.
The group has just ALWAYS been together. Friends forever, through thick and thin since kindergarten. Everyone is part of the team because it's hard to keep secrets when you're as close as kids in an 80's movie.
2: Classmates/Co-workers
Not as close as live-long friends but casual acquaintances who see one another on a regular basis, eight hours a day, five days a week and form a decent bond because of it.
3: Fight Club
Once or twice a week the members of the team meet for some manner of club meeting (anything from toy train enthusiasts to group therapy sessions) and have become decently close as a result even though they seldom cross paths the rest of the week.
4: Well, isn't that just Fantastic.
Thrown together by fate, the group experienced a life-transforming event that redefines them, give them a common origin and unites them as a team. May or may not involve cosmic rays.
5: Did the time.
Whether a supermax or Juvie hall , incarceration changes anyone who has experienced it. Everyone in the team has been there, done that and got the orange jumpsuit to prove it, and are either now united as a much more closely-knit band of thieves or all determined to turn their abilities to a greater cause.
6: Neighborhood watch.
Whether your home is a two-story house with a two-car garage and a white-picket fence, or a run-down brownstone in a slum, you and your fellow occupants are in it together because of your proximity with one another.
7: Insert capital letter here - Team.
All members were all former military personelle. It doesn't matter if you were a commando or a member of the secretarial pool, you all know one another, you all trust one another enough to function as a team outside of the rigid structure of the military.
