aww that is a shame but i guess thats what meets are for and the staff have to cover the costs of getting the entire hotel booked for just furs so dont be too mad at them *hugs*

I'm sorry you feel that way, but if we allowed people in without passes, in theory any number of people could turn up 'just for drinks and to hangout' and completely overwhelm both our staff and the hotel staff and spoil the convention for those that have paid to be there.

While we would of liked to offer cheaper day passes this year, the fact was with us moving suddenly to a new hotel and growing by another two-hundred attendees, we simply did not yet have the man-power to handle the required logistics of assigning badges and then policing the entire convention to ensure those who had only purchased one day did not come back the next and so on.

We instead focused on making sure the main convention experience was the best it possibly could be and if that meant not being able to offer day passes, so be it. We would rather not do something at all than do it poorly.

We also this year are giving out a special treat to say thank you to those who have attended all five years including this one, we can't give huge preference to them over others (as it's less than 100 who have been to all of them), but we can at least show our appreciation for their support with the gift we have planned.

Actually, attendee passes allow access to all parts of the convention from Thursday 6pm till the end of the Dead Dog on Monday, the same as resident ticket types, you are just required to leave the hotel when all events are over and the bars close so we know you aren't ghosting.

Also, in this case, from Thur 6pm onwards, we do have exclusive use of the entire hotel, that means no members of the public, no one there who isn't paid to be there. Not even in the reception or the bars. Given furs value having the privacy to be silly without ridicule, (something that our previous venue let us down on), we felt this was a critical thing to ensure. We are using the entire hotel for 'event' space of one kind or another, even outside and the reception spaces.

And again, if we allowed an exception in just your case and created some kind of special ticket, that would be unfair on many other people, so if we can't manage doing it for everyone, we can't do it just for one person either.

As I said, we would of liked to if we could. We just simply have the ability to do that this year because we grew beyond even our estimates this year and ran out of resources to do it.

I am merely a staff member, head of inventory, developer of the registration system software and I play Bellicose in our Pawpet show too. :P

And last year there was a trial of a few day passes, whether we can run them next year will depend on how successful our recruitment drive for extra staff is and if we can negotiate terms the hotel is happy with.
