tell them its to meet with people you know, if you want you can tell them its furry and explain its fun social group your involved in (this might be a plus since, if they know your this shy, they'd probably encourage it). Anyway one thing to think about is you wont make any friends unless you leave your house (RL friends, obviously internet friends can be made without leaving the house)

I dont know about telling my parents yet. Ill just tell them its like a college send off seeing as my college course finishes on the 29th, and that all my college mates are getting together for a drink on glasgow.

I got a message from the meet organiser, and he has helped me to feel more confident about going to the meet. So I think I will attend, and decide whether I like it or not. ^.^
