It's great because it's a children's show. The producers can't fall back on sex and violence and fart jokes to keep the audience amused. They have to have actual stories with plots and characters and stuff and take care of the animation and make it all look good. That's why all the really great books and movies and TV are made for kids.

And for the record, Twilight Sparkle and her pose ARE ANTHROPOMORPHIC ANIMALS!

I'm no brony either, but I attended a few meet and greets while at Furry Fiesta and after the obligatory eye roll saw what it was about.

Honestly the show is clever and fun to watch. The fans are no different than any other fandom.
