Meh... Califur.
So, this year's Califur, I was really unimpressed now that I look back at it.
As a con, it wasn't very good at all, only reason it was good was because I saw all my friends.
Half the panels there were hit-and-miss, and the entertainment was total crap honestly...
What I mean by that was, the variety show and the Cabaret, which have always been seperate events were clumped together into one this year and you had to pay to get in. On top of that, nobody was allowed to film, which is *totally* understandable for the Cabaret, but good lord, for the variety show?
It's all well and good to be in an act, and I would never trade that moment in an instant because I loved being in my act, but unlike the cabaret, we didn't do our act SPECIFICALLY for that small group of people who payed to get in. I wish everyone who wanted to could see it, and they didn't even allow anyone to film in there so nobody can see it on youtube either.
Overall just not all that enthused about it, it was fun seeing my friends and meeting new people and all that, but I think I'm gonna skip out on Califur next year and try going to Anthro Con. See how that goes.
Anyways, sorry for the little rant, just a few things I wasn't a big fan of.

Just think of it as a weekend getaway. AC is awesome, but its extremely difficult to hang with anyone since ppl are all so busy there.
I told you.
I went and had a blast thanks to chilling with friends.
I have to agree with you there. For next year I just might have to put all efforts into taking the long and worthwhile trip to AC.
So many people skipped out on this con just so they could attend AC
