The reason why I'm doing the massages at the con is because I actually am bringing in more from the con than I am spending. Currently, I'm getting a ride from a friend there, we're going to work something out for it, it'll cost me $0-40. For my room, trading a massage, cost 0. For a con badge, cost $50. I plan on bringing instant ramen cups from home to cut down on food costs, so hopefully I'll be spending roughly $30 on food, maybe a bit more. So the expenses are currently 80-120, assuming I don't go buy a bunch of crap fromt he con. I currently have $105 from various people who want massages, with another 45 promised for massages and with the potential for more, as I've talked with a couple other interested parties. Assuming I collect from people there, I've turned 30-70 in profit from working at the con, minimum. I've turned in 8 applications in the past month, and no calls back. The student work position will hire, and the money I've gotten so far will cover both the rest half of my tuition needed to be able to get a student work position, but also AC itself. I said originally in the journal that if I got enough interest in doing massage at AC, I'd go, and because I did I'm going. If I hadn't, I would not be going.

In short, it's more profitable to go to the con than to not go. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be going.
