people time and time again see a few key words like a political group or religious group and without reading past that word go into a shit spewing frenzy and then accuse you of shit you very obviously never said. it has been pissing me off for decades

the example that sticks in my mind and makes me rage til this day was a post i made a LONG time ago about 911. that the media was dicks for flying planes over the survivors and making sure to get closeups of the crying and terror. SOMEHOW this translated into me being for the terrorists! with someone going so far as to state they knew people that ALMOST died but were not actually in the twin towers and somehow were saved. telling me i had no right to say anything about it and that i was a horrible person for being for the terrorists.

i had a cousin DIE in the fucking pentagon. you know it got hit too. does not get the press like the towers and so therefore i guess does not count against people that may have been killed had they gone to work.

but this kind of crap happens all the time. people see a word or other keywords and you did not use bullet points and a powerpoint presentation to make it all into easily digestible info bytes for their fragile underdeveloped minds so they go apeshit and lose all manner of sanity and politeness and evidently the ability to read and understand.

i used to think when i was a kid that reading in the 98% - 99% was an accomplishment. now i realize it was just me beating out some mind damaged hairless monkeys.

9/11 was a tragic event.

That said, how we have handled things since 9/11 is best classified as Security Theater, made to look like things are safer, but not actually accomplishing anything more than wasting a lot of money and causing a lot of headaches.

Not to mention...how long it took for them to decide what to do about the towers...IMO it was always an easy solution. You build them back, using stronger materials and put a memorial in the building for those that perished.

I agree completely! personally i was all for that Joke proposition where the towers looked like a big middle finger. :)

and yeah considering how many things get through all this security and worse what people have been willing to give up for it... thats why i have that quote from Ben Franklin on my frontpage

The biggest problem with our country, and IMO the world in general, is that people want someone else to save them, to protect them. They don't want to have the responsibility of defending themselves. I'm not trying to imply that police are bad, or that reasonable security efforts are wrong, but if someone doesn't have the moral fortitude to attempt to defend themselves until help can arrive, they shouldn't be allowed to force their beliefs on me.

most people do not want the responsibility to think for themselves let alone defend themselves. which is why people can now legislate what you can eat. and i know police and others are not bad. at least most of them. i applaud anyone who wants that kind of thankless job for the reasons of actually protecting and serving their fellows.

but yeah i wish people would think and act for themselves. and think and act as a society with diversity. and not "well I WANT" attitudes.

right now the thing bringing you this example of me getting pissed would be trying to tell someone that they played into someone else's hands and how not to do it next time being taken as me defending them and somehow further devolving into name calling and insisting that i hide in my house from anxiety vs you know Being Fucking Crippled and having a UV allergy and no car...

this is the second time recently someone has said that shit even though i take walks most nights when i can and have to walk to pay bills and get things for the house.

basically it is a fight with Wolger right now. He went to pride and had a good time and got to flip off a preacher he want4ed to physically assault. I responded to it by telling him that that is what those kinds of fuckers wanted and to kill them with kindness and tell him that Jesus hung out with sinners and not self righteous assholes. that that kind of thing can sometimes disarm them better sine the violence is exactly what they wanted from them all to prove gays are demons. for fucks sake i was one of these fuckers. but of course i know nothing at all. and he never even read what i wrote. just decided i was being Tristan or his DAD and defending the fucker. Cause Tristan especially is well known for his defense of fag hating assholes... oh wait.. no he is not. he is just exploding all over the place like he has been evidently doing on FB.

maybe you can talk to him. i saw he deleted a bunch of stuff on the post. so i have no idea if what i said is even still there or not. but he will listen to you since i know he still has a thing for you

I am sure I can address the issues later. to be honest I feel like that is not my problem. I have given plenty advice and taken much time to cultivate but my efforts are not really rewarded. My give a damn is busted until further notice.

I am sorry if I sound heartless where Wolger is concerned. I just think he is old enough to make his own decisions and I am tired of trying to make them for him. his business is his own and I have had it with trying to show him how to behave.

I am glad I am not alone. It is easy to forget that he is an adult and in truth my elder. By no means should I tell him what he should and should not do. If he asks me for advice, I will give it to him. If I am needed, I will go. I am tired of actively doing it though when the actions show that my advice and help are not welcome. When I am not wanted, it is no longer my business.

i would beg to differ in that i am pretty sure humanity is now in the retard butterfly stage. we have wings and glitter and none of the sense to use it. people back even just 20 years ago could read and understand. and it was considered an important skill. perhaps not the entire population was literate but those that were were far more advanced than people are now. but that is my thought on it. i certainly know that as a species humans are still little kids and the gods are tired of dealing with us petulant things

i would think we are kinda middle aged right now considering that heat death is only like what 10billion years away and the universe is like 7 billion. of course i do not actually buy into heat death. because to attain it would require all things to become a uniform substance. something that is OBVIOUSLY not going on. considering we are watching star births relatively locally.

this is of course one of the big reasons i want to be immortal. i want to watch it all. i would like to personally drop some blue green algae on a new planet. i want to play and lose myself in creation. i think that would be magnificent!
