Probably. I don't use chatspeak, I feel it is a dumbing down of society almost. They don't use full words anymore. My real mom has a degree in linguistics and I get on her because she teaches English but still uses chatspeak.

Yeah, I try to avoid using 'chatspeak' even when I'm texting. Most people become annoyed by that.

Same reason they call me Kody all the time; is just what they're used to writing (since "chibi" is how it's usually spelled). Annoying, but unavoidable ^^; *huggies*

I do believe one reason, or at least why I do it, is that it seems the way one would shorten your full name. There is also how folks are familiar with the term "Chibi" and it is easy to go with what one knows and is familiar with when just typing out thoughts straight from the mind to the keyboard.

In any sense, I apologize and will try not to make the flub again in future comments. :)
