Factual statements that can be verified or refuted by evidence is not subject to opinion, period. You can believe in X (stand in for whatever) all you want, but to say that it is fact when in contradiction of the evidence is pure nonsense and deserves ridicule.
The word homophobic has lost its meaning... it should only be used for people legitimately frightened by homosexuality. Not for the people unaccepting of it. Not defending them. Just my opinion on word usage.
I don't think there was ever a time when people directly associated the term homophobia exclusively with a fear of homosexuals. I think it's always had the same meaning that it has today. More importantly, what point are you trying to make and how is it relevant enough to make? y'know?
The Oxford dictionary says phobia as a suffix can be used to characterize many things, including - fear, aversion, horror, etc.
There are certain molecules that are -hydrophobic-, meaning that they prefer neutral molecules or non-water solvents. I don't think molecules are "Afraid" of these things, though.
Hmm, yes. These christians give us all a bad name.
Just like the atheists who bash religon and say "Oh hahaha I'm so much better than you because I don't believe in god haha fuck you fuck god fuck religion"
My perfect world; where atheists don't bash religions, and where theists don't shove it down your throat and make you believe stuff.
I love that. "If there's no God then where do we get hope from?"
I also like the answer: the universe doesn't owe you a sense of hope. I'm sure that there are starving children in Africa whose parents are starving for hope but he ultimately have none. The universe can be a cruel place, and the story of a loving god can be a wonderful comfort, but believing in a god or in a religion doesn't negate the horror that this world can produce. Life made us no guarantees when we were born--made us no promises. It's a matter of luck, fortune, or grace if we are able to live a good life.
