Perhaps something like FurryMUCK or Tapestries for freeform, or roll20.net for setting up something more rules based with far-flung friends?

I'll look into those. The problem is the "far flung friends", or perhaps more accurately, lack thereof. No offence to anyone here, my introverted nature just makes it difficult for me to use the term "friend", especially for those I've never met face to face.

Well, roll20.net is http://roll20.net/ natch, the other two are MUCKs, which need a special program to access (sorta IRC-ish, but older). http://www.gammon.com.au/mushclient/mushclient.htm is an example. Then you can go to tapestries.fur.com port 2069 for Tapestries or furrymuck.com port 8889 with that program. The latter two are more like a chatroom with descriptive rooms more than anything else, though.

I always use MSN Messenger to text RP, and my RP (GPEX - Galactic Panthera EX) is a tremendously large RP that has been worked on for six years and is still going strong. I recently started with it again after putting in some adjustments and the like. Maybe you're interested in that? However if so, it DOES require full co-op from your side. This means, if you had a OC of your own, not only would it need to adhere to the rules me and my long time friend  serpro17 put up, but you would also need to manage your own OCs and give your own input.

Six years strong eh? That alone has my attention (I'm so used to RPs, be it online or tabletop, lasting no more than a few months at best, more often a few weeks). I don't have a character for GPEX, but I'm sure I'd have no trouble making one. I don't have/use MSN Messenger, but I could look into changing that. What might I do to learn more (other than perusing your work to reacclimate myself with the setting and established characters)?

Well first of all, you need to be very devoted to this RP, as its gigantic in scale and isn't some small RP. With devotion I look to two things of newcomers: The time you're online and managing your character. The last I look more at, as your OC should and must be managed by you at all times. This means you have a certain level of freedom here, and I can't do anything with your character unless you agree, but that should be simple enough for you to understand no?

These two rules I put heavy looks into, because the last time me and my friend added someone to the crew of two for the RP, she ended up making a character but never ever came back to manage it, leaving it to us to do so. This is very hard as we have to manage over 100 characters worth of OCs already. So I don't want you making a character, RPing with us for a time and then dump everything on us when you think you're not in the mood of it. If during the RP or during a interval to discuss further ideas, you might not have any interest anymore, we can discuss how to write off your character.

Further, the RP is a heavy mix of sci-fi, mythology, action and adventure, and is treated like a anime of sorts, and the RP is done in the form of episodes. This means the RP doesn't continuously go on and on and on, but is split into episode formats so they are easier accessed by other sources like me if I want to re-read or quickly fix something.

Also it would be easier for you I think if you used your existing fursona as a OC or any others you might already have and place it somewhere in the RP. But this is your choice to make. The last thing is that you should contact my friend  serpro17 for more in depth information. If he asks who you are and how you know about him, tell him I sent you. If he's still sceptical of you, use the phrase "King Lygerion sent me" That should be enough to verify yourselves to him, since he often calls me "Ly" in real life.

If you possess a Steam account, you could probably poke around on Steam for people to RP with (imparticularly, specific groups set up on there). It's how I met a number of decent RPers I currently know. However, people who initially get a Steam account have limited access to the functions on Steam until a game that's to be paid for is added to the account. At the same time, I'm very willing to RP with you whenever you want if you're up to it (IF you have access to some sort of messenger, Steam, or Skype).

I keep hearing about Steam, so I guess it's about time I looked into it. As to messengers or Skype: have access, yes; have account, no. That, however, is changable. At the moment I'm utilizing the site rpol.net for RPing, but it's extremely hard to find a good group there, both freeform and system based. It's really hard to get into RPing when people are only posting what seems like once a week or two.

That's kind of one reason why I do chat RPs rather than forum RPs. Forum RPs are too slow and people are heluva more likely to forget about as well. With chat RPs, I actually get somewhere with em and I don't gotta wait a good long while waiting for a post.

I have actually been getting that itch myself, actually. So yeah, if you want we can exchange contact info and RP, or make idle chit-chat or whatever is we feel like doing.
