Ah yes! The year is 1978, I freshly (albeit a few months late) graduated High School and the De-what's-his-name had not been built yet.
I'm an avid model railroader and enjoy cartoons, especially ones depicting lions for some reason.
I'm gearing up to go to college but we're a poor family so it'll be a struggle, I can't make up my mind whether to learn computer programming (you know, those glorified calculators that some folks are gassing about at Stanford) or a more lucrative auto mechanics degree since daddy was a Rambler mechanic. I love restoring Ramblers and just got my first one!
Mom says I should get into bookkeeping. I'm thinking electronics myself as well, I just can't make up my mind. I love to play with logic circuits and this new electronic thing called silicon 'chips'. Not to be confuse with the show "CHiPs".
So many career choices, I can't make up my mind! But I think this computer stuff is for big businesses only. It'll never be popular with everyday folks.
So, interesting to see you only just 2 years after the Bicentennial celebration! You missed it! I love the paint job they did on that ice whatever warehouse by Redwood Highway in Novato! Really groovy design!
It is 1999. Two years ago we sent the Robinson family to explore the depths of space with a twitchy gay man stowed on board and are only now receiving their first transmissions. Two months ago we sent a single operative known only as "Snake" into the Middle East to stop Metal Gear and declared a World Peace Day upon his safe arrival, which seemed only fair since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort on May 2nd. Alas, it was ruined as a terrorist known as Tyler Durden chose that day to destroy the major buildings of several credit card companies. Fortunately for us, he was unaware that most information is stored in off-site servers.
Of course all of this became moot when a giant space craft landed in South Ataria and the world united together with the goal to recreate it. We have plans to launch the SDF-Macross 1 within the next few years. Welcome back, and don't forget what year it is and party accordingly, these are exciting times. =)
Yeah yeah yeah. *looks around* Listen, you seem like a resourceful chap, do you know where I can get my hands on some SQUID recordings? I hear they're all the rage now.
