I fear this may do more harm than good.

"The proposed new USDA/APHIS rule and PUPS law would prevent most animals from being raised in a home and family setting. The Animal Welfare Act limits licensed breeders to only commercial/laboratory style settings."

Also, every single adopter comes into your home? That could bring all sorts of diseases into your home that your animals could catch. Not to mention I dont generally trust too many people inside my house. I hope that makes sense. I mean...maybe its a good thing...but...I just worry. I just have this sneaking suspicion that this is a bad idea...maybe just tweak some thinks here and there. Then I could understand it better and it wouldnt rub me the wrong way.
All of the rescues I've worked for have, so I don't think that's much of an issue. Same for most pounds. They all require you to spay/nurture the animal before they go home with you.
Also I 'think' someone told me they read that if you make less than $500 on animal sales you are exempt. Lord knows I never make $500 selling rats. It's just really confusing to me personally.
and thank God that law did not pass...wtf...although I did kind of see these things coming after the recent snake ban.
Ill tell you. I wont buy an animal raised in a lab that has no interaction except with mom.
It's also practically not reinforceable. It's not like the USDA has the agents to go around to every village, town and city looking for home breeders. They can even stop the really bad puppy mills now.
