My PS3 is acting up... When I put a disc in, it plays for like 6 minutes, then I hear a clicking sound that sounds like a circular click that repeats every 3 seconds. The music drops from the game, and it eventually makes a sound like it's ejecting the disc, but it doesn't come out. It does come out when I eject it however. I can do everything on it but play disc games. DVDs even work. So do my hardrive games that I downloaded from PSN.
I really do not want to buy a new ps3, but YouTube is telling me to practically set it down sideways and do a rain dance.....
I need help.

Never really had this happen to myself, but I hope it does prove to be a simple fix for you.
Your only options are:
(REMEMBER TO CHECK IF YOUR PS3 IS STILL UNDER WARRANTEE FIRST) Or else once you open the Console the warrentee is "Void" if it hasnt been opened yet.
Open the case by removing the screws (make sure you keep the screws safe on the side in something), watch step by step on youtube on how to take it apart and do it exactly how the person shows you. Once everything is open, you would just need to access the blueray player.
There is a tiny screw in the middle of the Console that holds the shell (Depending if you have the Fat or Slim, it would Vary)
Heres the tricky part, you would have to open the blueray shell because from there you would need to get some Que-tips and clean that metal rod and the gears with rubbing alcohol. You dont need to take anything apart from there but to clean it.
Put everything back together and pretty much the same way you took it apart but be careful how to place that plastic thing thats loose in the blueray player because it has to be placed correctly or it will click even worse.
From there if done correctly the player "should" work more smoothly but if it keeps doing it then you would need to replace the blueray player.
If it comes down to that then you would try to buy a brand new PS3 Player.
Ive repaired PSP and Fat PS3 Consoles. I have 3 PS3's. If all else fails maybe i can help you out but first find out your Warrentee. Opening the Console would be a last resort if your not under the warrentee and find out how much is it to replace the Player.
Good Luck :3
