I'm transgender. My brother and sister-in-law both know, and have mouthed words of support, but I can't help but wonder if that will actually hold up in the long run. Especially since my sister-in-law doesn't particularly like me.

Well you have every right to see your little niece. You are family. That would be just wrong if they discriminated against you like that!. That's the norm in my family. We have so many gay and transgender folks in my family *hugs* I believe they will accept you hun

I don't think my brother would. He's a pretty good guy if, I suspect, a little uncertain how to deal with my coming out. To the best of my knowledge, I'm the only person in my family who is like this, so I guess I can't blame anyone for being a bit surprised. But I guess I'll see how things go.

I hope so. I think my brother will probably be okay with my seeing them. It's my sister-in-law and her family I'm a bit worried about. But I guess I'll see how it goes.

Either way, I'm happy for them. They're really devoted to each other, and I think they'll make great parents, and I know it's something they've wanted for a while now. I'm just being selfish because I don't want to lose any more family than I have.

Yeah. It's nice to know there might be someone left to inherit the family farm after my brother and I are gone. Provided the city doesn't build a bypass through it in the meantime.

Not that that's the only reason I'm pleased for them, of course! I know they've been wanting a child for some time now, and it's nice to see a wish fulfilled.

Yeah, so do I. I'm reasonably sure they will, and I know my brother won't turn hostile or anything like that. I suppose the real issue is that, even after all this time, my sister-in-law may as well be a stranger to me in a lot of ways, and it's hard to trust her because of that. Which is me being unfair, I know.

Still, I'm happy for them and I know they'll do their best for the kid, and that's really the main thing. And thanks. *hugs*
