Why do people still use them? I mean, really, all it does is damage the picture. It's not like a single picture takes up such a large chunk of memory that it needs to be compressed down that much. :(

FA's automatic image resizer, it uses too high JPEG compression rate and people is so lazy that they don't resize it by themself. I can fix images that are raped by JPEG and I usually do so if I decide to save a pic that's raped by JPEG.

for some reason people dont like to use a lossless format like png, i hate the artifacting on jpeg when artists just save it and 'there ya go' without changing the actual compression amount
